Custom outdoor living spaces designed and fabricated in wood and steel. Heirloom-quality work for homes that deserve more than off-the-shelf.
Every project starts on paper and ends with steel and timber in your yard. We design and fabricate the entire installation — wood structures, custom metalwork, fire features, and the finish details that separate custom work from catalog work.
Heavy-timber pergolas with welded steel joinery, vine-ready arbors, and shade structures engineered to outlast trends. Designed around your house, your yard, and how the sun moves through it.
Custom-fabricated fire bowls, masonry fire pits, and outdoor fireplace surrounds. Wood-burning or gas, designed as a centerpiece worth gathering around for the next thirty years.
Full-roof pavilions and covered outdoor rooms designed as architectural extensions of the house. Engineered for Illinois weather, detailed so they look like they belong.
Decks, paver patios, walkways, and the metalwork that ties them together — custom railings, post caps, decorative brackets. Foundation-grade installation, finish-grade detail.
A complete outdoor room designed and built as a single project — pergola, fire feature, deck or patio, railings, lighting. One plan, one crew, one finish date, one source of accountability.
Architectural metalwork fabricated in-shop — railings, gates, decorative brackets, fire features, custom accents. AWS-certified welding across stick, TIG, MIG, and flux core.
Most outdoor living projects get split across a designer, a carpenter, a welder, and a landscaper — and the seams show. We do the design, the wood, and the steel in the same shop. What you see on paper is what shows up in your yard.
Forged Iron Grove is owner-operated by Jordan Draves. Jordan grew up on construction job sites alongside his father and uncle and has spent 16 years in the trades — carpentry, metal fabrication, production management, and field installation.
He spent two years fabricating custom outdoor living structures at Rooftopia in Chicago — pergolas, arbors, railings, fire features, and architectural metalwork — built in the shop and installed on rooftops across the city. That work is the foundation of what Forged Iron Grove does today.
From there he moved into production management at residential exterior contractors across the Fox Valley, running multi-job production and leading installation crews. He's certified by the American Welding Society in structural welding across all four major processes.
Forged Iron Grove brings the design, the carpentry, and the welding together under one shop — built for homeowners who want the work done once and done right.
Owner-operated and locally based, working residential properties across the region's most established communities.
